APF Welcomes Strategic Synergy with European Manufacturers

Jakarta - January 29, 2020 - PT Asia Pacific Fibers Tbk (APF) warmly welcomes the initiation of the acquisition process of ADVANSA - a leading polyester fiber producer based in Germany – by Sverige Netherlands B.V (an affiliated company of APF’s majority shareholders: Damiano Investment B.V.). The acquisition will enable a strong synergy between APF and ADVANSA to strengthen the efforts of the two companies in producing more diversified product variations in order to meet the global demands.

"This strategic step is a significant milestone; it is in line with APF's vision to be a producer of value-added polyester products. This collaboration will enable the enhancement of APF’s products capabilities which have been serving the needs of both Indonesian domestic and international industries. ADVANSA is a European polyester fibre producer supplying customers worldwide through its network of logistic centres and representative offices in Europe, Asia and the United States. APF participated in the latest edition of “Techtextil” fair in Frankfurt from 09th May 2017 to 12th May 2017.

Techtextil is a leading international trade fair for Technical Textiles and Non-wovens. Techtextil presented the complete spectrum of technical textiles and non-wovens for all areas of application, making it one of the most relevant user-fairs for textile innovations. Techtextil is unrivalled thanks to the broad spectrum of textile materials and technologies to be seen.

APF show-cased its recently developed innovative technical products (both fibres and filament yarns) for usages in Automotive, Performance, Protective, Furnishings, Hygiene and Fashion segments by corroborating the link between technology and materials for varied applications.

APF gave an impressive demonstration of its innovativeness and preparedness to meet tomorrow’s challenges. The fair also provided APF a certain platform to interact with suppliers, designers, fabric & garment manufacturers, technologists and developers and facilitated a conduit to identify a broad thematic choice and the opportunity for an inter-disciplinary exchange of ideas and opinions in the fields of automotive textiles, performance textiles, protective clothing, home-textiles, hygiene textiles, leisure wear and fashion wear.

APF has started the “Clean Factory / Clean Product” initiative back in 2008 with aim to replace hazardous chemicals used, with harmless alternatives throughout the entire production process.

This “Detox campaign” of APF has reached to a new high during October 2018 whereby all APF’s products passed Appendix 6 of Oeko Tex Standard – 100 which involves tightening of the limit values of harmful chemicals as compared to requirement under "Appendix 4 of Oeko Tex Standard 100" and therefore meeting all Human - Ecological requirements for our products.

Improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating a better and safer working conditions have always been a priority for APF. As a continuous endeavour to achieve these goals, recently APF has been accredited with ISO 45001-2018 certification by SGS
