APF is committed to environmental sustainability and community empowerment through its active support for a tangible abrasion mitigation action in Mororejo Village, Kaliwungu. This initiative, organized by the Environmentally Concerned Kaliwungu Youth on Sunday, November 16, 2025, serves as a proactive response to the escalating threat of coastal abrasion and tidal floods (rob) in the region.
APF, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, provided crucial supplies and logistical support for the sea pine tree planting activity. This collective effort involved hundreds of young people from various local organizations. A total of 250 sea pine seedlings were successfully planted along the coastal area of Mororejo Village, which has been most severely affected by erosion, including former resident fish pond areas that have now succumbed to the sea. The planting aims to establish a robust natural defense against seawater erosion and minimize the long-term impact of tidal flood disasters.
Asyraf Darwis, Chairman of APF’s CSR Committee, stated, “APF’s CSR commitment to environmental stewardship aligns perfectly with the company’s 5 Pillars of CSR program. The involvement of local youth is essential for us to preserve environmental sustainability, both now and in the future. The harmony with APF’s ‘Winning Together’ spirit is reflected in our efforts to ensure that communities surrounding the company experience the positive impact of APF’s presence. We are hopeful that this program will be sustainable in the long term to prevent social distress caused by the effects of coastal erosion.”
The sea pine planting action was attended and appreciated by the Regent of Kendal, Dyah Kartika Permanasari. The Regent emphasized the importance of early prevention efforts. “We highly appreciate the responsibility shown by the youth in Kaliwungu for taking charge of protecting the environment from seawater abrasion,” said the Regent of Kendal.
APF is committed to continuing strategic collaborations with local communities and the government in projects focused on environmental preservation and climate change mitigation. This initiative in Kaliwungu is an integral part of APF’s overarching sustainability strategy, ensuring that business operations are conducted in parallel with social responsibility.
