APF PARTNERS WITH AUSTRALIA’S BLOCKTEXX® TO PIONEER CIRCULAR TEXTILE-TO-TEXTILE POLYESTER FILAMENT YARN SOLUTIONS

Jakarta, Indonesia – October 8, 2025 – Asia Pacific Fibers (APF), a leading integrated polyester manufacturer in Indonesia, operating under the tagline “Winning Together,” today announced a strategic partnership with BlockTexx®, an Australian clean technology company specializing in textile recycling. This collaboration is set to develop and supply innovative, certified, Textile-to-Textile recycled polyester filament yarn solutions (Re-petitive) to global fashion clients.

Driving Circular Solutions Amidst the Global Textile Waste Crisis

The partnership addresses a critical sustainability challenge in the fashion and textile industry, where less than 1% of the global fiber market is currently sourced from pre- and post-consumer recycled textiles. With global fiber production hitting 124 million tonnes in 2023 and projected to surge to 160 million tonnes by 2030, the need for scalable, truly circular recycling solutions is paramount. BlockTexx®’s patented process, S.O.F.T.™ (Separation of Fibre Technology), enables the extraction of high-value raw materials from discarded post-consumer blended textiles, specifically polyester and cellulose, to create pristine PolyTexx® and CellTexx® raw materials. This innovation effectively solves the primary barrier to textile recycling: the separation of blended fabrics.

Ravishankar, President Director of Asia Pacific Fibers, stated that the partnership further cements APF’s leadership in sustainability.

“The partnership with BlockTexx further reflects our company’s unwavering belief in the promise of a sustainable future. Our flagship product, Re-petitive, made from PolyTexx® rPET, exemplifies our commitment to sustainability, offering our value chain partners a true circular solution that drastically minimizes water usage, chemical pollution, and landfill waste,” said Ravishankar. “By closing the loop on end-of-life textiles, we empower our customers and brands to meet their environmental goals while maintaining uncompromising standards for design and performance.”

Graham Ross, Co-founder of BlockTexx®, highlighted the value of the strategic collaboration.

“BlockTexx’s mission is to develop low-emission technology to produce commercial-scale recycled products priced comparably to virgin ones,” said Ross. “We value the technical development expertise of the Asia Pacific Fibers team and commend their commitment to being an early mover in the Textile-to-Textile product industry. We are excited to showcase these fabrics in Europe in October.”

APF’s Re-petitive yarn is available in raw white and dope-dyed colors, featuring built-in functional properties such as elasticity, moisture management, anti-UV, anti-microbial, anti-dust mite, and biodegradability. The yarn is made from 100% recycled polymer, with the textile waste content customizable to client needs, ranging from 10% to 50% of the overall blend. This recycled yarn has secured leading sustainability certifications, including OEKO-TEX, GRS, and RCS, ensuring compliance and product integrity.

Asia Pacific Fibers and BlockTexx® will collaborate on developing a commercial-ready range of filament yarns and jointly marketing these products to the global fashion and textile industries, accelerating the transition to a circular economy.
